A radio science workshop was planned in honor of Cornell professor emeritus Don Farley, and organizers needed T-shirts to mark the event. They requested a graphic that would reference the honoree's work in space physics, using a diagram from one of his most famous published papers. Silkscreened shirts were given to all who attended the conference.
